But which government are we talking about? Because if we are talking about the German government the answer to the question is hard. Germany isn't perfect in health care but, compared for example to the USA, we are doing things very well here. And space exploration has to be supported to, as far as a States economical stability (or instability) permits (because there is a ton of knowledge and data out there that we can discover or still need to interpret correctly), and I don't see these kind of issues in Germany right now that would make it wrong to invest into space exploration.
